With a Sunday night off work and one of my favourite bands on the bill (The Story So Far) me and my trusty housemates embarked on a crisp cold winter walk to the Student Union. (We live a mere 10 minute walk away but merh!) Initially buying a ticket to see ADTR for their scheduled date in February with support from my absolute favourites The Story So Far, I was obviously disappointed when they had to cancel a mere hour and a half after doors were meant to open (IT WAS FREEZING COLD AND I WAS SURROUNDED BY CHILDREN DRINKING FLAGONS OF STRONGBOW!) When it was announced that Busted and McFly were to join forces and create their own supergroup (minus Charlie Simpson), my heart melted both with excitement but with disappointment that Busted were going to reform without one of their former members.
When my best friend hurled Brand New tickets at me for my Christmas present last year, well let’s say that I cried endlessly with happiness at the thought of being able to see my favourite band again. Especially when tickets had sold out in mere hours and initial search for tickets had started with my alarm deciding it hated me and refused to go off. I was absolutely devastated. The Watford born band, formed in 2007 by lead vocalist Mike Duce and lead guitarist Ben Sansom, reunited with their Welsh fans at the SOLUS bar in Cardiff’s Student Union.
